Before
AfterStair renovation Noord-Holland — Omnistair Signature CrystalSand
In Noord-Holland an old pine stair had been a source of frustration for years. Treads sagged, the stair creaked with every step. With EverStep as the base layer and a full Signature finish in CrystalSand, the problem was solved in two working days — not masked.
What was solved here?
A pine stair that had been declining for years
Pine is a relatively soft wood, so older pine stairs can start to work or flex after years of heavy use. The treads clearly sagged and with every step the creak was audible throughout the house.
As a temporary measure, support battens had been added underneath, but the resident didn't consider that a good or lasting solution. The whole stair — sides, posts and handrail — had to be finished in one calm, unified appearance.
The residents knew Omnistair from an earlier Creastairs era and came to the Experience Center specifically to ask whether a system now existed that offered a better solution both structurally and visually.

Old pine stair with sagging treads and earlier support battens.

As a first step the EverStep treads are placed over the existing pine stair — the recycled natural-stone composite immediately stiffens the construction and makes the treads evenly true.
The structural problem solved, not masked
Day 1: walls, floors and ceiling masked. The temporary support battens removed. Stair, posts, sides and handrail sanded and degreased. EverStep treads placed — the ultra-thin base layer in recycled natural-stone composite that immediately adds stability to the construction. All seams chamfered, irregularities filled.
Day 2: the full Signature finish in CrystalSand, Stone texture with Design Pigments. Treads, sides, stringers and handrail elements fully integrated — one continuous, seamless whole.
- —EverStep base layer — recycled natural-stone composite
- —Fully seamless Signature finish
- —Sides, posts and handrail included
- —Stone texture with Design Pigments in CrystalSand
- —No demolition — fits directly over the existing construction
On day two the resident said it straight away: the creak is gone
The stair looks calmer, cleaner and now fits much better with the rest of the entrance. No loose elements, no visible transitions. CrystalSand with Stone texture and Design Pigments gives the hall a warm, architectural feel.

"We'd been done with that creaking for years. There were already battens under the stair but really that was just a stop-gap. We wanted something that felt firm AND looked good all around. On day two I said it straight away: I'm already happy. The creak is just gone."
"The creak is gone — and the stair finally feels firm again."
"No loose parts, no visible seams. Just one whole."
"Two days' work, years of difference."
